Denied Services
The following is a list of Online Services that have been denied due to violations of federal and/or Colorado state law. Staff should not require, encourage, or suggests that students should create accounts on or input Personally Identifiable Information (PII) into the following services for any school-related purposes. Likewise, staff should not input student PII into any of the following services. Be aware that even usernames, emails, and any form of academic progress can qualify as PII.
Please note that although some of these sites may adhere to federal law (and may have iKeepSafe or other certificates posted to their home page), they may not comply with Colorado law, which is more rigorous in its requirements.
Many of these services require account creation, but some do not require student PII in order to use the service. Be advised that some of these services may still fail to meet legal requirements (i.e., targeted advertising). Please use your best discretion if you allow students to visit any of the following sites, and remember that under no circumstances should students create accounts or input PII into any of these services.
Staff may choose to access the following services for their own use as long as no student PII is entered. Many of these services may provide valuable resources for teachers, and staff who opt to access these services or create an account for their own use may do so as long as they enter only their personal, non-student-related PII. However, by doing so, staff members must acknowledge the data and privacy risks associated with the service and assume full responsibility for any data privacy misconduct that may occur with the use of the service. Staff members should also exercise utmost caution whenever downloading any content from these services onto their Frontier-owned devices.
