Volunteers & Visitors
Welcome to Frontier Academy!
At Frontier Academy, we are pleased to welcome volunteers and visitors to our school community! To maintain a safe environment for our students and staff, all volunteers will complete criminal background checks. In partnership with Greeley District 6, this system goes beyond the basic sex offender registry check to ensure that all individuals entering our buildings are safe to interact with children.
All Volunteers MUST:
1. Click here to: Complete a background check
2. Complete volunteer orientation (Every Tuesday @ 8 am @ K-3 building.)
After these two steps are complete, please complete the visitor and volunteer form.
- Click here to: Complete the volunteer/visitor form.
Volunteer Background Checks
Once a year, volunteers will need to complete a quick online form to process a criminal background check. This check will screen for criminal activity that could prevent a volunteer from interacting with children, such as felony convictions, domestic violence, outstanding warrants, or unlawful sexual behavior.
The online form will include all District 6 schools, so you only need to fill it out once, regardless of which schools your children attend. After submission, Frontier Academy administrators will notify you within a few days that you are cleared to request a time to volunteer. Please note that Frontier Academy administrators will make the final decision on volunteer eligibility after reviewing the results. For any personal concerns, please reach out to our administration directly.
Visitor & Volunteer Process
If you're interested in exploring our campus or volunteering, please follow the steps below. Approval is required for all visitors and volunteers:
Visitor approval: Please allow 24 hours for approval.
Volunteer approval: Please allow 48 hours for approval, once the background check is complete.
Volunteer Orientation
For those wishing to volunteer during school hours, at either the elementary or secondary campus, completing a background check and attending an orientation is mandatory. The orientation will outline expectations and conduct for volunteers on campus.
To complete your orientation, you can attend any Elementary OPT meeting or join us at the elementary campus on Tuesdays at 8 a.m. Please check in at the K-3 front office when you arrive. Elementary OPT meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month (August through May) at 6 p.m. in the Elementary Library.
For exact dates, please refer to the event calendar or email [email protected] for alternative orientation options.
Visitor Guidelines
All visitors must obtain prior approval from the building principal or Executive Director for safety and security reasons. Parents wishing to visit their child’s class or educational activities must also receive prior approval before entering.
The administration reserves the right to deny access to any school property or activity, and volunteers must receive prior approval from classroom teachers and administration. Volunteers will be provided with clear guidelines for their involvement in the educational program.
Any visitor who disrupts the learning environment may be asked to leave the premises. Violators of this policy may be issued a warning of trespass and could be prohibited from returning.
Thank you for your understanding and support in keeping our campus safe and welcoming!
